Leaders
Pastor Bob Humphrey
Co-Pastor
Pastor Bob came to Muhlenberg to serve as our Co-Pastor in May 2010. Ordained in 1981, he has served all of his ministry as a parish pastor and pastoral counselor in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. He is married to Barbra and they have a daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.
Pastor Dave Nelson
Co-Pastor
Pastor Dave came to Muhlenberg in 2003 as our Co-Pastor. Ordained in 1981 he served for more than 20 years in urban ministries in Detroit, Jersey City and New York City. He is married to Beth and they have 4 children.
Staff
Linda Depoy
Administrative Assistant & Bookkeeper
Linda has been on our staff since 2002. She brings wonderful skill and experience and helps our congregation and staff stay organized and healthy. She can usually respond to most questions and schedules appointments for the pastors among many other responsibilities. Feel free to call her at 540-434-3496.
Crystl Whitmire
Office Assistant
Crystl has served on our staff since 2009 and bring a wealth of experience and bright spirit in her support of our ministries.
Diane Bayer
Minister of Christian Formation
Diane has served on our staff since 2006. She provides leadership for all our faith formation ministries.
She has also served on the VA Synod Education Committee and currently serves on the Synod’s “Roots & Wings” Committee for nurturing the faith with families with younger children. Diane is married to Chip and they have four children. In her spare time she enjoys being with her seven grandchildren.
Elizabeth McBride
Minister of Music
Elizabeth oversees our worship and music ministries. She is a native of Covington Va., began studying piano at the age of nine and organ at twelve. Her first organist position began at fourteen and she has never looked back!
Ms McBride holds a Master of Music degree from James Madison University, where she studied piano with Steve Buchanan and organ with Richard McPherson.
Before joining Muhlenberg in 2008, she was organist at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock, Va. In addition to serving at Muhlenberg, Elizabeth is also principal accompanist for Masterworks Chorus of the Shenandoah Valley and teaches privately. She is a member of AGO. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters.
Mark Nichols
Music Accompanist
Mark joined our staff in 2011 and supports our worship and music at both the piano and organ.
Betty Karol Wilson
Director of Hand Bell Choirs
Betty Karol has served our congregation since 2011. She provides instruction and direction to our Hand Bell Choirs.
Adam & Cathy Copeland
Interim Youth & Campus Liaisons
We are currently in a study process to determine long-term future staffing needs.
Meanwhile we are blessed with the talented Interim Staff team of Adam & Cathy Copeland and our Peer Campus Ministry Student Leaders.
Chip Bayer
Sexton
Chip has served on our staff since 2009. He maintains our facilities and serves our ministries and missions in any number of ways!
Crystal Weaver
Nursery Care
Crystal has served as our child care provider during worship, faith formation and special events since 2010. She brings both experience and joy to her ministry.
