Welcome members... especially 'mature' members...!...
who enjoy eating breakfast and/or lunch at one of several local restaurants.

Lunch: First Thursday of the month
The group also occasionally chooses & plans an outing for each month, usually on a
Saturday near the end of each month. Recent trips have included visits to Washington
Cathedral (pictures) and Winchester's Museum of
the Shenandoah Valley (pictures) . Another
activity of the group "Birthday Card Ministry" is to mail cards to all members over the age of 55 - last
year we mailed 287 cards! Many thanks to Sandy Brzozowski for heading up this Ministry!

- Saturday November 8 - Antiques are Fun! [EVENT POSTPONED TILL SPRING: We are unable to mount this activity at this time; Need more appraisers, etc.]
- Friday December 19 - Dinner at Francisco's 5:00 P.M. followed by attending the Shenandoah
Valley Choral Society's Christmas program "Ceremony of Carols / Star in the East." Concert
will be held at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, Bridgewater, Virginia at 7:30 P.M.
- Thursday January 8 - Lunch at VMRC 1:30 P.M. hosted by Katie Ray. Cost $10/person. Contact Jackie Wells if you plan on attending.
- Tuesday January 20 - Breakfast at Thomas House in Dayton 8:30 A.M.
Past activities:
- Thursday May 8 - Walking Tour of New Market followed by lunch at Shenvalee
starting at 10:30 a.m. This tour covered the northern end of town and featured the lives
of the townfolk during the Civil War. Tour was organized by Sandy Brzozowski.
- Thursday June 5 Tour and Luncheon - Shrine Mont - Lunch at
the Orkney Springs Hotel followed by the tour (pictures) . Organized by Janet Simmons.
- Thursday July 3 Dinner and Concert - We gathered at the Wood Grill Buffet for dinner and then went on to Harrisonburg High School
for the Rockingham Choral Society's annual Patriotic Concert, "CELEBRATE AMERICA!" Organized by
(and many thanks to!) Sandy Brzozowski. Good turnout and great program!
- Saturday August 2 Musical - Matinee performance of "The Producers" at the
Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre - Shenandoah University - Winchester.
- Thursday October 2 - Potomac Eagle Excursion - About 22 of us left the Church at 8:30 am
and arrived in Romney, WV at about 11:15 am to board the train. Ate our packed lunch while on the
trip up the gorge and
then after our trip back down the gorge and on our way back home, we ate at the Red, Hot,
and Blue cafe in Winchester - great BBQ! (pictures) .
