FAITH FORMATION

Middle School
Sunday Morning Faith Formation Group for 6th - 8th graders*:  a three-year study in the “Bible Zone” and more; 6th graders will focus on the Old Testament, 7th graders on the New Testament, and 8th graders on Luther’s Small Catechism.

Confirmation Program: a relational ministry to prepare students to affirm their faith — Old/New Testament  and Catechism, worship, retreats, service and learning opportunities.

High School
Sunday Morning Faith Formation Group*: a video and discussion curriculum helping students encounter, engage and explore their faith in creative ways.

YOUTH MINISTRY (Middle and High School)

Youth Groups
Alpha Teens: The youth group for 6th-8th graders usually meets on Sundays for fellowship, fun, learning, and service activities. The group also participates in Synodical Youth Gatherings.

JCrew (Jesus’ Crew):  The group for high school youth generally meets twice monthly for fellowship, planning and local mission work. The group also participates in Synodical Youth Gatherings and ongoing fund-raising to provide resources to support summer mission trip and service events.

Mission Trips: Organized periodically to areas in need (as in the aftermath of hurricanes).  Recent trips include Indian Reservations, rebuilding houses throughout Virginia, assisting Habitat for Humanity, clean up in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, rebuilding houses in Mexico and serving together on an American Indian Reservation in MT.
