Kids Programs
Faith Formation
Faith Formation Kick Off for the 2025-2026 school year happens Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Join us during the program year, from Fall Kick Off in late August through Pentecost in late May, at 9:45am in the Muhlenberg Activities Center (MAC) for Faith Formation.
During this hour we explore the lectionary through age appropriate activities and discussion. Classes are offered for Pre-K through 1st grade, 2nd-3rd grade, and 4th-5th grade.
Pre-K through 1st grade will explore Bible stories and get to know who Jesus is. They will explore the stories through art, dramatic play and music.
2nd-3rd grade will use both story style and NRSV Bibles to connect with the lectionary. They will explore what they have learned through games, art and adult-led discussions.
4th-5th grade will dig deeper into the lectionary of the day and come to a deeper understanding of who Jesus is. They will have time to explore concepts with writing, art and Lego prompts to create something based on what they learned. They will work on projects for 6-week sessiions and then display them in the Gathering Area for the congregation to see.
Nursery
For our very youngest, quality childcare is provided each Sunday in the Nursery 8:15am- 12:30pm, so little ones (birth – age 5) will have a safe space to be during worship and the Faith Formation Hour.
Children’s Kits
Children who are attending service are welcome to grab a children's kit on the welcome desk. Each kit has a quiet activity, coloring and activity pages based on the lectionary, and crayons.
Kids Camp
Every summer, Muhlenberg Lutheran Church and Shalom Mennonite join together to offer Kids Camp for 5 evenings. Every evening a family meal is provided. Children will learn about the scripture of the evening through Music, Art, Science, Movement, and Bible Study.
