Youth Programs

Below you’ll find the regularly scheduled classes and gatherings for youth that are offered during the program year, from late August through May, each Sunday Morning.  All students in these age ranges are encouraged to join in with their peers to learn and grow together in faith.  You can learn more about the Confirmation program in the Life Events section of our website.

Youth Classes on Sunday:  Word and Witness

Word, Augsburg Room

First Class Begins Sunday, August 24 at 9:45 am
6th and 7th graders join together each week for an in-depth Bible study together on the focus text of the Narrative Lectionary. This class is open to all who wish to dive into the bible texts, but for the 6th and 7th graders it will serve as the foundation of our Confirmation curriculum as we learn more about God’s Word. Classes will afford our students the opportunity to learn more about important biblical figures, central stories in scripture, and learn with peers about how to apply the lessons of scripture to our daily life.

Witness, Campus Room

First Class Begins Sunday, August 24 at 9:45 am
8th and 9th graders join together each week for fellowship and study around the central themes of our faith. As we shift our approach to Confirmation toward a student-centered and discernment-led invitation to discipleship, this class will be an opportunity to explore what discipleship means. We’ll study the catechism, integrate our faith into everyday life, learn from the ways others live out their faith, and explore the varying faiths of our neighbors. This class is open to all who wish to discern God’s gifts and callings in their life, but for the 8th and 9th graders, it will serve as a supportive community in which students can discern when they are feeling called to affirm their baptisms.

Confirmation Family Class

1st Sundays, 6:00–8:00pm
First Class is Sunday, September 7 at 6:00-8:00 pm
Future classes will be 10/5, 11/2, and 12/7 for 2025

Youth and their families will come together for monthly classes and fellowship to learn more about specific topics on the confirmation journey, and discuss how we live out our lives as disciples across generations. This class will happen on the 1st Sunday of each month from 6:00–8:00pm with dinner provided. Confirmation students and their parents/guardians are expected to attend this class. The class is also open to anyone in the congregation who would like to learn about the foundations of the Lutheran faith alongside our confirmands and continue the lifelong journey of Affirming our Baptisms! If you are interested in being a part of the confirmation class and/or helping to provide monthly meals, contact Pastor Alex using the form below.
