People Helping People On the Move

People Helping People (PHP) is getting a new home! Currently housed at The Ott Street House, they will start seeing clients in the Nielsen Room beginning April 14. Clients are seen Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings each week. Outside of those hours, the Nielsen Room will still be available for use as usual.

People Helping People is an ecumenical crisis ministry of churches and faith communities serving Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Since its founding in 1992, it has been located at and significantly supported by Muhlenberg Lutheran Church. We’re proud to host this important community ministry!

If you’re here on a weekday and see a “lost” client trying to find their way, please don’t hesitate to point them toward the outside entrance to the Nielsen Room. It may take some time for visitors to adjust to the new location, and we ask your help in extending gracious hospitality through the transition.

With the move of PHP out of The Ott Street House, we can move forward with plans to demolish The Ott Street House and establish a fenced-in grassy area in its place, providing a safe, green space for the congregation, Second Home, and the community to enjoy!
