Where did you grow up, and what brought you to Harrisonburg?

I grew up in Floyd County, Virginia, and I ended up in the Shenandoah Valley because I LOVE the Blue Ridge Mountains. I wanted to live somewhere with a bit more diversity than my small town, but I couldn't bear to leave the mountains where I grew up. I've always said I feel like some of the atoms that make up my body are borrowed from the mountains, so I can't stray too far from them.

How does your faith happen in your daily life?

Faith is present in my life through the ways I love the people around me, and the ways they love me. Simple as that!

What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?

I'm married to my favorite person on planet earth, as of this May! Most people who knew me in high school would probably put me on a "least likely to marry young" list, but here we are, wed at 22.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

The most inspiring thing for me is knowing that my work leaves a mark on people's lives. I mean, this time two years ago I was preparing for my senior year as a student in campus ministry, and now I'm here! You never know where God will lead you when you start a journey in campus ministry.

Ask me about:

MARCHING BAND! My beloved. Just don't ask me to march 8 to 5.

My favorite word in the English language is:

Love! Though I do prefer it broken down into five words in Greek.

If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve:

Food! More specifically, chicken! I mean, we've got designated holidays for turkey, ham, and eggs....

If we held a talent show, I’d wow everyone with:

Singing! Sorry, it's basic but it's true.
