NOMINEE BIOS
The following members, in consultation with our Nominating Committee, have discerned a willingness to serve in positions of leadership at Muhlenberg. Nominations for Congregation Council may be made from the floor at the Congregational Meeting. If you have questions about the nomination process, the role of Council Member, or are discerning your own call to leadership, please contact Pastor Lauren (eanes@muhlenberglutheran.org).
Jacob Dunlap, Council Nominee
Jacob Dunlap has been a member of Muhlenberg for 4 years, and has served on Council for the past three years. He has found serving on Council to be a fantastic opportunity for him to give his talents and time back to the church. During the week you'll find him working as a human resources manager for Owens Corning. Along with his wife Victoria, he is a proud member of the Mule ‘N Burgers with Cheese championship kickball team, and the young adult group at Muhlenberg.
Chris Orem, Council Nominee
Chris Orem has been a member of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church since 2023. He has served on the property and endowment committees and assists on occasion with children's ministry. He works at James Madison University where he oversees research about the institution and helps facilitate strategic planning. He is married to Sarah Orem and has two boys, Landon and Isaac. He likes to work in the yard and golf when times allows. It usually doesn't.
What is a Congregation Council member?
A Congregation Council member helps guide the life and mission of the church through prayerful leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and active participation in the congregation’s ministry. Council members work alongside the pastor(s) to shape the church’s vision, set goals, and ensure that worship, service, learning and stewardship reflect the congregation’s mission and values. They also oversee the church’s finances, property and staff, striving to use all resources faithfully and responsibly. Above all, Council members serve as examples of Christian faith in action—listening to the congregation, fostering unity and goodwill, and helping the church live out its calling in the world.
