MAC Keypads Installed
As part of Muhlenberg’s overall security plan, we have installed two new key pads on doors at the Muhlenberg Activities Center (MAC): the main glass door entrance and the kitchen door. This allows most main entrances on our campus to now have access with personal identification numbers (PINs) instead of requiring a key. PINs allow us more control over who has access to our buildings and the hours they have access. For example, Comfort Makers have access Thursday mornings when they meet. If someone books the MAC for a wedding anniversary dinner on a Saturday evening, we can give them access 2:00 - 9:00 to give them time to set up and clean up. The PIN entry system also allows our staff and volunteers, like the Property Committee, to have access.
Important: On the MAC glass doors, the key pad is located on the right side of the doors (circle), but it unlocks the left door (square) due to fire codes.
If you need access to the MAC doors and have not heard from me that your PIN now works for both the church and the MAC, please contact me (depoy@muhlenberglutheran.org). If you don’t have a PIN and need one for either building, I’ll be glad to assign one for your needs. I’m also happy to answer any questions about access to our campus.
Some things to note…
· PINs used to access the previous key pad at the MAC may no longer work, especially shared codes. If you need access to any door, be sure you have your own PIN programmed for your specific needs.
· For safety reasons, please do not let anyone else in the building when using your PIN. Church office staff and volunteers need to know who is in the building at all times, so it is best for those without PINs to be let in through official channels. Thank you.
· DO NOT share your code with anyone. It is important for us to know exactly who is in our building(s) should a concern arise.
