Yard Sale Donations & TV Raffle UPDATED

YARD SALE DATE: Saturday, June 13, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

Mark your calendar now for our annual Muhlenberg Community Yard Sale! We hope to make this year’s yard sale even bigger than before. We will use the Muhlenberg Activities Center (MAC) for some items, making it easy to shop rain or shine. Donations will be accepted starting Sundays through June 7 from 9:30-10:30am and Wednesday & Fridays Noon-1pm, so keep Muhlenberg in mind as you begin your spring cleaning! You can drop off your donations to the Gathering Area.

Have a treasure trove you would like to sell yourself? This year we are also allowing individuals to rent a space in our parking lot to hold their own yard sale within our larger Muhlenberg yard sale. You can have one space (complete with a table and two chairs) for $25. Extra spaces, tables and chairs are available for an additional discounted price. If you are interested in renting a space or learning more, contact Jeff Williams sexton@muhlenberglutheran.org). (804-931-2274 )

We are also looking for volunteers to help organize, set up, and run the sale. If you are interested, please contact Samantha Hall (halldvm22@gmail.com) for details. Come browse for treasures, enjoy delicious homemade baked goods, and support this fun yearly tradition at the Muhlenberg Community Yard Sale! Contact Jeff Williams or Mark Byerly (msbyerlype@comcast.net or 540-271-1478) for more information or watch The Chimes for additional details coming soon.

TV RAFFLE

in connection with the yard sale, we are also holding a raffle for a brand new, in-the-box, 58” TCL television. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and can be purchased in the Gathering Area between services today and each Sunday through June 7, as well as at the yard sale itself. The raffle drawing will be held at noon the day of the yard sale. You do not need to be present to win, but must be available to pick up the prize from the church within one (1) week. Note: while it is brand new, we are raffling the TV “as is” with no implied warranty.

FOOD TRUCK

Cosmic Smoke-N-BBQ food truck is coming to our yard sale! And how, you may ask, did this come about? It started when member Steve Wilfong attended the first yard sale meeting and someone floated the idea of having a food truck. Fast-forward to Steve striking up a conversation with a man in the locker room at the gym. Steve first learned the man’s father was his high school science teacher. As the conversation continued, he discovered the man was Jeffrey Good, owner of Cosmic Smoke-N-BBQ. When asked by Steve if he would be interested in bringing his food truck to Muhlenberg’s yard sale, the answer was … YES! Then we had questions about Muhlenberg’s need for licensing, so Steve contacted Mr. Good who explained his Harrisonburg City license should be enough. Mr. Good contacted the City and received written confirmation his license is indeed all we need. And that’s how the idea of having a food truck at our yard sale became a reality. Thank you, Steve and Mr. Good!
